About The Artwork

I’ve always found the short winter days more difficult, like many people I feel drained more often and my mood suffers from the reduced sunlight. No spring is upon us I’m happier, more energetic and feel freer and more creative. It’s amazing that we are subject to the seasons even in the modern age. This link between the physical world and our mental well-being fascinates me and I feel I need a constant reminder, that a period of low mood could be caused by something so simple.

About the artist

Mike Thebridge is a British artist living and working in London, UK. Having studied painting at Winchester School of Art, he began his Art career by making art digitally and selling prints of his work.
He returned to painting about 3 years ago, focusing on portraits. In 2021 he moved to Ukraine with his partner and set up a studio there, because of the ongoing conflict and the difficulty of travelling back to the UK regularly, they returned to living in London in early 2024.
