About The Artwork

Nagui Achamallah’s The Sound Of The Oud is a vibrant celebration of cultural heritage and musical spirit. Painted in acrylic on canvas, the composition fuses bold geometric abstraction with a richly detailed portrayal of a musician holding the oud, one of the Middle East’s most iconic instruments. The mosaic-like surface, alive with patterned blues, reds, and golds, gives the painting a rhythmic energy that mirrors the soulful resonance of the instrument itself.
The work carries layers of symbolism: the oud as a bridge between tradition and modernity, the angular fragmentation as a reflection of life’s complexity, and the rich palette as an echo of music’s power to unify and uplift. This piece is both expressive and contemplative, offering collectors a striking fusion of cultural depth, figurative presence, and modern artistic expression.
