The 3rd Day
Descriptions:
The 3rd Day by Cody Choi captures a powerful collective moment suspended between tension and release. Seven figures leap in unison across a stark white ground, their reflections stretching across the polished floor beneath them. The black and white palette heightens the drama of the composition and focuses attention on form, rhythm, and the shared energy of movement.
Each hooded figure feels both anonymous and expressive, creating an atmosphere that invites viewers to consider themes of identity, unity, and transformation. Printed on C-Type Fuji Crystal Archive photographic matte paper, the work offers crisp detail and rich tonal depth that honor the dynamic choreography at its core. This piece is ideal for collectors who appreciate contemporary dance photography, conceptual storytelling, and imagery that bridges performance and fine art.

About The Artwork
expand_more
This image was taken at the 3rd time of Cody’s visit as a guest teacher at Tsoying High School in Taiwan- where most students are highly disciplined and technical, they usually get admitted to the National Taiwan University of Arts. Because of Cody’s highly physical style, he has always been asked to choreograph pieces for all male students and Cody took the opportunity to “really exploit their youth, energy and ability. “The 3rd Day” is a series of images taken during the final dress rehearsal at the theatre in the school before the piece goes on a national tour across Taiwan.
