Nagui Achamallah’s Man With Oud captures the timeless connection between music, identity, and cultural tradition. Painted in acrylic on canvas, the work presents a solemn figure in a red fez and golden coat, holding the oud with both reverence and strength. The instrument, adorned with bold geometric motifs, becomes a central symbol of continuity and heritage, while the figure’s steady gaze adds depth and quiet dignity.
The structured background of interlocking geometric shapes contrasts with the organic curves of the oud, reflecting a dialogue between tradition and modern abstraction. The earthy tones of gold, red, and green balanced with sharp blues and blacks create a striking atmosphere that is both vibrant and contemplative. This piece resonates as a celebration of cultural pride, artistic rhythm, and the enduring human bond with music.
